Project Planning – Control
ASPROFOS plans all project activities in the conceptual stage itself and constantly monitoring progress during the execution phase to ensure the completion of the project as per the committed schedule. The primary indicator of success is a function of prudent planning and meeting project objectives and goals. ASPROFOS Project Control Office is responsible for planning, monitoring controlling, tracking and reporting in the execution phase of all ASPROFOS managed projects.
ASPROFOS Project Control Office combines more than 20 years experience in Engineering and Project Management with the most modern technology available, such as PRIMAVERA Enterprise-Project Planner, Microsoft’s Project 2000 and custom or “in house” developed software, all run in the same platform, providing the complete overview of all the projects–from summaries by cost account and resource breakdown structures, to proactive control of project issues and risks, managing multiple projects and support multi-user access across the entire enterprise.
The extensive use of project scheduling and monitoring tools enable the preparation of detailed execution plans for the project, reducing cycle time by eliminating redundant tasks resulting in a compression of the execution cycle. After establishing a project baseline in the planning phase, the planners measure progress toward project objectives, evaluate that progress, and recommend corrective action to meet or exceed those objectives. Comparisons are consistently made between planned and actual progress. It’s up to the project controls department to identify concerns and determine causes for any deviations. Project Managers are made aware of these deviations early to allow corrective action to be implemented.
Report Preparation
During the planning and execution phase, project reports are developed to meet the project requirements. These reports are used by all project team members to monitor project progress and report status. Our reports are designed to give the current status of the project, identify areas of concern and forecast ongoing work to completion. Report formats are made easy to read and informative through the use of graphs, charts and tables where applicable.
Cost Estimation
For the last 20 years, the cost estimation office is involved in the realization of cost estimation for all kind of projects. Our estimators have years of actual, “hands-on” experience in the construction industry, which bear in state-of-the-art computer software to accurately predict the costs associated with engineering, procurement and construction projects. Our estimating experience includes refining, chemical, and offshore construction projects, both domestic and abroad, utilizing ICARUS Project Manager (IPM), ICARUS 2000, Pipeline Cost Estimation System and other estimating systems. Even more, during the cost database development, an extensive electronic library with projects data has been created.
Cost Control
ASPROFOS Project Control Office is responsible for project cost control specifically for gathering, accumulating, analyzing, reporting and managing project’s costs on an on-going basis. These processes include setting up the cost control and reporting system to be used for any project, monitoring project cost changes, actual versus budget, variance analysis, integrated cost reporting and advising of any overrun or underrun and corrective actions. ASPROFOS Project Control Office issues Project Cost reports and cost summaries according to a predetermined schedule and cover home office, equipment, bulk materials, construction cost already committed and relevant forecast. The variance identified in the cost report is subject to joint analysis with the responsible management team.
