Pre-Feasibility Study For Iran-Armenia Natural Gas Pipeline

Scope of work:

The scope of the project was the elaboration of a techno-economic pre-study for the construction of a Natural Gas pipeline from Iran to Armenia according to the international codes and in a format acceptable by international financial institutes. The objective of the study was firstly to serve as an information tool for the involved parties to enable a decision to be taken regarding the project and secondly as an introduction for all interested potential investors.

The pre-study was based on all existing data thus enabling the updating of the previous estimates of the project budget.

In more detail, this involved:

  • analysis of the existing data based on previous study’s and estimates,
  • preliminary design of the pipeline routing,
  • calculations of the profile pressures and flow regarding a selected scenario,
  • preliminary study of the necessary utilities/support systems,
  • cost estimation  of the whole project,
  • reliminary Time Schedule for the construction phase of the project.
