Refineries

Refinery Process Operations

Experience has been developed and acquired in non-proprietary technical know-how for refinery process operations such as the atmospheric, vacuum and light ends distillation, the naphtha hydrotreating and gas oil hydrodesulphurisation, the treatment of sour gas with amine solutions, and the  sour water stripping. Additional involvement in the sector of design of auxiliary refinery utilities and offsites facilities, such as crude and refinery product storage, transfer, mixing and blending, as well as loading/unloading operations, has contributed in solidifying and broadening the experience acquired. Having thus inherited extensive engineering design know-how through participation in the field for a period of a quarter of a century,  the company can today successfully integrate the design of refinery units and deliver detailed engineering packages of medium complexity licensed know-how, such as that encountered in the visbreaking and isomerization units.

Electrical Facilities

Basic and detailed design experience and specialized know-how has been simultaneously acquired in electrical facilities, highly reliable and efficient, installed in refineries, which are more dependent on electricity than steam,. These facilities include power generation and power import stepped down from 150 KV to lower levels, the associated distribution networks, as well as the systems of load shedding and reacceleration.

Steam Generation & Steam Grids

The Company has experience in the basic design of cogeneration systems in which steam at various pressure levels is produced and distributed. To expand its versatility on this issue, the Company developed linear programming packages, which optimize the operating scheme for steam grids and electrical networks. Last but not least, the Company has progressively acquired experience in complex refinery products storage and transfer facilities, which may be reproduced and enhanced whenever projects of similar nature arise.

Instrumentation & Automation Systems

The Company disposes of extensive basic design and detailed engineering experience in instrumentation and automation systems, which extends beyond the design of the conventional electronic and pneumatic control systems and encompasses all the new technologies of the computerized control, safety and data acquisition system in many types of applications.
